Strategies For Hexagon Game Mode:
1. Go straight to the bottom.
This strategy lets you make a net on the bottom layer so that when another player falls through the middle level, they will fall through the bottom layer and get eliminated. There are two ways to do this, the first being, you run for the edge and fall off the edge. If you use this method, you must fall off the edge, fall past the middle layer, but then move towards the final layer. This strategy is very risky because if you miss a jump, you’re the one who gets eliminated.
2. Keep jumping.
This strategy means that you jump(space bar), pause, jump again, pause again, and keep doing this until there are no tiles left. This is a good strategy because it doesn’t use many tiles, and so if you want to stay higher up (talked about in strategy 3) then this is an ideal strategy.
3. Stay high up.
This strategy means that you try and stay as high as you can so that you don’t fall to the bottom. This strategy is harder to pull off as other people are breaking the tiles around you and not leaving much space for you to manoeuvre around without falling.
4. Eliminate other players.
This is a hard strategy to pull off, as you need to be on the bottom level for it to work, and you need to be ahead of them. You must eliminate the three hexagons in between you and the person you’re trying to eliminate, if it is only a one-block gap, they can jump over it, and if it is a two hexagon gap, they can dive over it. It is hard to pull off, but worth it if you get it right.
5. Eliminate more than one tile at a time.
This strategy works with strategy four because if you can eliminate more than one tile at a time, it makes it easier to eliminate a player. To do this you have to hit the hexagons that you want to eliminate in the very centre where they all connect. After a second, instead of just that tile falling, all two or three tiles will fall!
6. Dive as you’re falling
This is a strategy for when you’re falling to elimination but don’t want to be eliminated. This means that as you’re falling, you dive(shift). It doesn’t make your penguin go up, but it makes you go forward, therefore slowing your descent. If you are in the last two and you both fall at the same time, this strategy will make you win, as the other person is falling straight down.
A strategy that I’ve seen some people do, but don’t recommend, is diving at the start. This strategy slows you down and, if one doesn’t have good enough reflexes, could knock you down a layer. I’m not you, but all the times that I’ve done it, it hasn’t gone well for me.
