Mr. Juliot, 8th Grade Mathematics
Hometown: Naperville, IL
Favorite Children's Book: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling because it was one of the first large books I ever read as a child cover to cover. My dad had read the first 3-4 to me but he kept falling asleep when reading to me so eventually I told him I wanted to read it on my own so I could actually finish it!
Favorite Food: Popcorn
What is the best advice you have ever received that you would like to share with students?
This time in your life is one of the best opportunities you will have to try a bunch of new things. Take advantage of that opportunity to figure out what brings you joy and then run with it!

Ms. Melzer, 5th/8th Grade ELA Substitute Teacher
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Favorite Children's Book: Lafcadio the Lion Who Shot Back is my favorite children's book because it is written by Shel Silverstein and is super silly, but it also has a wonderful message.
Favorite Food: Tacos
What is the best advice you have ever received that you would like to share with students?
My mom always told me "Feelings are neither right nor wrong, they just are.  It is what you do with those feelings that can make them right or wrong." I take this to mean that we cannot control our feelings, but we CAN control how we react.

Mr. Orion, ELA Teacher Assistant
Hometown: Wauconda, IL
Favorite Children's Book: My favorite children's book is Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. This is my favorite children's book because there are a bunch of poems that are easy reads and provide fun life lessons.
Favorite Food: Nothing can beat a perfect pink in the center steak. Wagyu beef is the best of the best obviously.
What is the best advice you have ever received that you would like to share with students?
The best advice that I have ever received is that failure (or getting the wrong answer) is part of the learning process. If you cannot identify what you did wrong, you will never be able to learn. I think this is one of the most important things to learn so you do not get discouraged while learning.
